Constituents in Illinois' 104th House District in the east-central part of the state will have yet another opportunity to see and speak with Rep. Michael Marron (R-Fithian) ten days before Christmas.

Marron will be conducting an hour-long a town hall meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Vermilion County Administration Building at 201 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, according to an announcement issued late last month.

"I will provide an overview of this past year, my thoughts going  into the new year, and of course take questions from you. Please join me!" Marron said in the announcement.

Marron, a small business owner who, with his father, operates a family farm in rural Vermilion County, has represented the 104th House District since he was sworn in on Sept. 7, 2018, following his appointment the previous summer to succeed long-serving Republican Rep. Chad Hays, who had retired. Marron won another term in office during last year's General Election, taking almost 60% of the vote to soundly defeat his Democrat challenger Cynthia Cunningham.

The state's 104th House District includes parts of Champaign and Vermilion counties.

Before his time in the state House, Marron was Chairman of the Vermilion County Board and was Vice Chair of the Vermilion County Board. He also previously served as Supervisor of Pilot Township.

Marron has been very visible and active in his district. This past June, he posted a video to YouTube in which spoke from the House floor about his constituents' loss of faith in government.

"Every day, I talk to a lot of people," Marron said at the time. "I talk to my constituents, people who visit me in the office, people at public events, people that call me on the phone. And an overwhelming large portion of the people I talk to are mad as hell. They've lost faith in this body, they've lost faith in you, faith in me. They don't believe in the system anymore."

The following month, Marron took a ride with Danville Police and called it "an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life."

In September, Marron called on Democrats during a news conference to take action on Springfield's ethics problem.

"It is time that we finally hit the reset button on this draconian system that has led to scandal after scandal during my short tenure in Springfield," Marron said at time. "All I've seen is a majority party taking it as a go-it-alone approach cleaning up this mess, ignoring real reforms and instead passing meaningless reforms that don't get to the root of the problem."
