U.S. Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) is questioning whether the Biden administration policies and proposed legislation are helping the U.S. economy.
"Prices keep going up, shelves are empty, the government is forcing companies to fire people and everyone is losing hope," she tweeted, "Is this 'Building Back Better?'"
In June, the congresswoman also raised questions to U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona over gender issues in high school sports.
"Mr. Secretary, I’m truly shocked at your position on these issues," Miller said. "While I have nothing but sympathy for those who struggle with gender confusion, instead of offering kids help, your department is planning to punish schools who attempt to protect girls’ privacy and support female athletics. Our school administrators and teachers have better things to do than to enforce the Biden administration’s extreme gender ideology. I am disappointed that you are advocating for a few students to feel safe but not advocating for a majority of girls who will not feel safe or comfortable under your rules and guidance."
The congresswoman told the secretary she has five daughters who would "feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable either on the sports teams or in the locker rooms. I also want to remind you that a former member brought up that 74% of Americans agree that you are o the wrong side of this issue," according to a transcript releasedy by the congresswoman's office. "Also, it is true that if men are allowed to compete in women’s sports, then sports will be dominated by men.”
Miller in May announced the winner of the Congressional Art Competition, 17-year-old Gage Atteberry of Carmi, Illinois. The work was entitled, "The Weight of Faith" and depicts "his 72 year-old grandmother's hands holding one of her mother's favorite rosaries that she used every night," the congresswoman said.
"I am completely blown away by the artistic talent in Illinois' 15th District," she said. "Gage's artwork is magnificent and extraordinarily detailed. To then hear the story and inspiration behind his work, made the artwork and detail all the more spectacular."
In July, a fundraiser held by Miller was attended by U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia.)
“I have not gone to anyone’s district and supported anybody yet, but I went to your congresswoman’s district first and supported your congresswoman because I’m thankful for her,” Greene said. “She needs your help. We aren’t the popular girls in Washington. They call us insurrectionists. We are patriots.”
