City of Hoopeston City Council Met April 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Crusinberry called council to order.

Roll Call Taken: All eight council members were present in person: Ankenbrand, Florek, Goodwine, Garrett, Lawson, McElhaney, Wise and Eyrich.

Ankenbrand moved to approve the AGENDA seconded by Garrett. AGENDA approved 8-0.

Garrett moved to approve MINUTES of the prior meeting, seconded by Florek. MINUTES were approved 8-0.

Lawson moved to approve PAYMENT OF BILLS, seconded by Florek. BILLS WERE APPROVED by roll call vote 8-0.

PRESENTATIONS: A group with Kim Burch as spokesperson addressed council with concerns regarding the swimming pool not opening. The group petitioned council to reconsider a decision and open the pool this summer. The group offered ideas and support to make opening the pool feasible.

No other presentations

REPORT OF OFFICERS:

a). Ankenbrand announced that Brody Herman has been hired for Dispatch training.

b). Eyrich had nothing to report.

c). Florek had nothing to report.

d). Garrett had nothing to report.

e). Goodwine had nothing to report.

f). Wise made the motion to enter into the engineer contract Cummins. Lawson seconded the motion. Roll call vote 8-0 approved the Engineering contract with Cummins. Alley cleanup will begin April 19.

g). Lawson had nothing to report.

h). McElhaney had nothing to report.

No COMMUNICATIONS

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The subject of funding for the city pool was addressed. Appropriations for it will be looked into at the Budget Meeting to be held Wednesday.

NO NEW BUSINESS

NO EXECUTIVE SESSION

Motion made by Ankenbrand to adjourn seconded by McElhaney.
