Village of Belgium Parks and Recreation Committee met Oct. 5

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

1. CALL TO ORDER

The Parks & Recreation Committee of the Village of Belgium was called to order by committee chairperson Don Gotcher at 6:30 PM, in the Village Hall, 104 Peter Thein Ave, with the following members present:

2. ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS

PRESENT: Trustee Don Gotcher, Trustee Clem Gottsacker, and Trustee Sarah Heisler. Also present were Treasurer Vickie Boehnlsin, DPW

Superintendent Dan Birenbaum, and Don Mueller from Mueller

Construction.

EXCUSED:

a) A quorum was established.

b) The meeting is compliant with Wisconsin open meetings laws.

c) All in attendance stood for the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

a) Approve meeting minutes September 22, 2020:

Moved by Clem Gottsacker, seconded by Sarah Heisler, to approve meeting minutes. MOTION CARRIED by the following votes:

Ayes: Clem Gottsacker, Sarah Heisler, and Don Gotcher

4. AGENDA ITEMS: CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING:

a) Continued discussion of Community Park Shelter improvements: Don Mueller from Mueller Construction provided a review of the work that has been completed on the current structure. He also provided a couple of resources for completing the project. Mueller will provide a list of possible architects for the project. The Village has budgeted $250,000 to be expended in 2022. No action was taken.

Please note – a Quorum of the Village Board and/or a Village Committee may exist. No Village Board action will be taken. Please note, upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of disabled individuals through appropriate aids and services. For additional information or to request services, contact the Village Hall (262) 285-7931.

b) Status update of street tree replacement plan: replacement of six street trees total has been requested by the residents that were sent letters in the past two years. There is money in the budget to cover the cost of replacing the trees in 2020.

Moved by Sarah Heisler, seconded by Clem Gottsacker, to recommend to Village Board to replace the six requested street trees.

MOTION CARRIED by the following votes:

Ayes: Don Gotcher, Clem Gottsacker, and Sarah Heisler

5. ADJOURNMENT

Motion to adjourn at 7:15 pm was made by Clem Gottsacker and seconded by Sarah Heisler. MOTION CARRIED unanimously.
