62 percent of applicants to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 98 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Champaign enrolled 49,702 students in fall 2018, including 33,915 in undergraduate and 15,787 in graduate programs, data shows. 3.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

76 percent of undergraduates are residents of Illinois, and 10 percent are residents of other states. 12 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (44 percent) and Asian (19 percent).

The school admitted 62 percent of the 39,406 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 31 percent enrolled.
