Champaign's Small Business Incentive Program (SBIP) has been amended to include the COVID-19 Relief Grant, which will provide more than a half-million dollars of Community Development Block Grant funding to small businesses that have been impacted by the coronavirus.

According to the city, the grant has $520,000 to provide to eligible small businesses. Applications are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be submitted via e-mail or in person.

Each small business can get up to $15,000 to assist it due to the impact of the novel coronavirus. Expenses incurred between April 1 and June 30 are eligible for reimbursement and those applying for the grants must have documentation of their expenses when they apply for the grants.

Those wanting to apply in person can drop their application off at the mailbox located in the Champaign City Building.
