Monticello Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 29.
We are so excited that our retail businesses will be able to welcome customers in their stores at 50% capacity starting today! Our restaurants are able to serve outside, if they wish. Thanks to City of Monticello, Illinois Government, several have parklets (outdoor seating) ready for your use! If a seat isn’t immediately available for you, order to go or put your name in for a table and go visit our local retailers while waiting! Our businesses are preparing to clean more frequently and wear masks among other requirements. Please do your part and maintain social distancing in all places. You should wear masks while not eating or drinking. You should take advantage of hand sanitizer available at each location. These are not rules set by our businesses. Agree or disagree with the rules, or who set them, please respect that these businesses are trying to make the best of a difficult situation. Show patience as we all adjust to new ways of doing business. Our businesses just want to serve, please make it as easy to do as possible!
