Q2 2019 Recap: Parolees in Danville convicted of sex crimes

There were three offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Danville during the second quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chambana Sun.

The data shows that three men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 36. The youngest parolee was a 29-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 49-year-old man sentenced in 2002.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Mathiew Woodard. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2017 when he was 26 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
