Urbana home prices rise in the first half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2018 in Urbana rose by $25,500 while total sales decreased by 31.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2018, there were 253 homes sold, with a median sale price of $140,000 - a 22.3% increase over the $114,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 370 homes sold in Urbana in the first half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Urbana for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,258, approximately 2.3% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2018.
