Champaign home prices fall in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Champaign fell by $16,500 while total sales decreased by 48.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 120 homes sold, with a median sale price of $138,000 - a 10.7% decrease over the $154,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 232 homes sold in Champaign in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Champaign for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,362, approximately 2.4% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
