Champaign home prices rise in the fourth quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Champaign rose by $5,500 while total sales decreased by 5.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were 289 homes sold, with a median sale price of $135,000 - a 4.2% increase over the $129,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 306 homes sold in Champaign in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Champaign for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,362, approximately 2.5% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2018.
