Homer home prices fall in May 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2017 in Homer fell by $17,688 while total sales decreased by 16.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2017, there were five homes sold, with a median sale price of $85,000 - a 17.2% decrease over the $102,688 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were six homes sold in Homer in May 2016.

The median sales tax in Homer for 2017 was $2,041. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,013. This marks an increase of 1.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.4%.
