Champaign home prices rise in May 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2017 in Champaign rose by $2,900 while total sales increased by 4.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2017, there were 183 homes sold, with a median sale price of $134,900 - a 2.2% increase over the $132,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 175 homes sold in Champaign in May 2016.

The median sales tax in Champaign for 2017 was $3,362. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,040. This marks an increase of 10.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.5%.
