Gifford home prices fall in the first half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2017 in Gifford fell by $41,881 while total sales increased by 90%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2017, there were 19 homes sold, with a median sale price of $100,619 - a 29.4% decrease over the $142,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 10 homes sold in Gifford in the first half of 2016.

The median sales tax in Gifford for 2017 was $2,790. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,651. This marks an increase of 5.2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.8%.
