Champaign home prices fall in the third quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2017 in Champaign fell by $964 while total sales increased by 7.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2017, there were 561 homes sold, with a median sale price of $145,500 - a 0.7% decrease over the $146,464 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 522 homes sold in Champaign in the third quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Champaign for 2017 was $3,362.40. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,039.80. This marks an increase of 10.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.3%.
