Report: Hoopeston Area spent $11,178 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Hoopeston Area Community Unit School District 11 is up 11.5 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Vermilion County school district spent $10,027 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,178 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1344 to 1238.

Hoopeston Area's spending in 2017-18 was 16.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
