Report: 2.2% of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign students repaying loans are in default

Out of 6,262 University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign students repaying loans in 2015, 139 were in default, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

That gives the four-year public school in Champaign a default rate of 2.2 percent for that year – 0.5 percentage points higher than in 2014 and 0.5 points higher than in 2013.

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign had 27 more students in default in 2015 than in 2014 and 26 more than in 2013.
