Champaign City Council issued the following announcement on July 19.
In order to perform tree work, the Public Works Department will close the westbound lane of Springfield Avenue between Van Doren Street and Wheaton Avenue. Westbound traffic will be routed through the center turn lane.
This work is planned to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 20 and is planned to be completed and reopened to traffic by 11:00 a.m. The City appreciates the cooperation of travelers in the area and encourages caution when traveling through work zones.
