CHAMPAIGN COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 4 BOARD OF EDUCATION: AP Academy Registration Now Open

Reg2

Champaign Community Unit School District No. 4 Board of Education issued the following announcement on May 31.

Champaign Unit 4 high schools will offer a series of free summer Advanced Placement (AP) courses designed to help new and experienced AP students get ready for the 2018-19 school year. The AP PREP ACADEMY courses are open to Unit 4 high school students who are scheduled to take one of the AP courses listed below.

Academies are made possible by an AP College and Career Success for All Students grant.

At each Academy, students will preview AP course material, review essential information from previous coursework, ask questions about summer assignments and discuss AP strategies.

“I became more comfortable with the upcoming course, learned that summer reading is important and learned the skills of AP World History,” said a student who attended AP World History last summer.

Mike Lehr, Unit 4’s Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning, said, “while these camps are beneficial for all AP students, they are especially helpful for many of our sophomores and juniors who are taking an AP course for the first time.”

Unit 4 high school students may register via https://goo.gl/3u2mGj or call (217) 373-7359.

Academies are free; MTD bus tokens are available as needed for transportation. Centennial and Central students are welcome to attend any academy—they need not be enrolled at the school where the academy is held.
