Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Illinois State University

In-state tuition and fees was unchanged for 2017-18 at Illinois State University, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois residents paid $14,061 to attend the four-year public institution in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years.

Non-residents paid 79 percent more than residents this year, or $25,168. Their price tag was unchanged from $25,168 in 2016-17.

About 96 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Illinois residents. And about 3 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 82 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 2,078 students received grants or scholarships totaling $18.96 million and 2,308 students took out student loans totaling more than $18.4 million.

Including all undergraduates, 9,266 students used grants or scholarships totaling $76.79 million. Another 10,682 took out $69.27 million in federal student loans.
