Report: St. Joseph spent $7,886 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at St. Joseph Community Consolidated School District 169 is down 2 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Champaign County school district spent $8,023 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $7,886 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 889 to 900.

St. Joseph's spending in 2016-17 was 39 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
