Report: Oakwood spent $8,851 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Oakwood Community Unit School District 76 is down 9 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Vermilion County school district spent $9,680 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,851 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1051 to 974.

Oakwood's spending in 2016-17 was 32 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
