Report: Rantoul City spent $11,758 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Rantoul City School District 137 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Champaign County school district spent $10,577 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,758 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1633 to 1674.

Rantoul City's spending in 2016-17 was 9 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
