Report: Heritage spent $11,531 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Heritage Community Unit School District 8 is up 14 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Champaign County school district spent $10,086 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,531 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 524 to 478.

Heritage's spending in 2016-17 was 11 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
