Ameia Wilson and Blake Reifsteck got greedy at the annual Danville Indoor Open, grabbing not one but two titles at the mid-March event.
Bismarck-Henning’s Reifsteck took first in both the 55- and 200-meter races, finishing with a time of 6.98 seconds in the first and 25.10 seconds in the second. Meanwhile, Danville’s Wilson took the 55-meter race with a time of 7.14 seconds, as well as the long jump, with a distance of 17 feet 9.5 inches.
Other highlights of the meet included strong outings by Danville's 3,200-meter relay squad of Brandon Barfell, Sincere Williams-Davis, Tyler Huckelberry and William Powell; and Danville competitors Jaiden Nelson (shot put) Armond Mayfield (55-meter hurdles), Phillip Hall (800 meters) and Michael Moreman (1,600 meters).
Champaign Central had three winners: Noah Brunson in the 800-meter race, Nicholas Jackson in the high jump and Ben Schultz in the triple jump.
Danville runners Diamond Holme, Shanice Garbutt and Keneisha Williams won the 400-, 600-, and 800-meter races, respectively.
Bismarck-Henning had multiple girl winners as well, with Allison Duncan, Morgan Drennan, Alexis Darby and Aryn Willard winning the 3,200-meter relay. Sierra Bryant won the 200-meter race, and Danielle Duncan took the top spot in the shot put.
