Illinois American Water has promoted Michael Smyth, who has worked as the company's senior operations manager of field service and production for the Chicago metro area since 2009, to vice president of operations.
Prior to joining Illinois American Water, Smyth gained experience at several pipeline repair companies, including Insituform Technologies USA and MPC Products Corp.
“Michael has a proven track record of working successfully with employees, businesses and city officials and community organizations," Illinois American Water President Bruce Hauk said. "In his new role, he will lead our efforts in safety, operational efficiencies and growth.”
Illinois American Water is a New Jersey-based company that provides water and wastewater service to 1.2 million people in 128 communities across Illinois.
