Homer Board of Trustees approves payment of village bills

Homer Board of Trustees met Monday, Nov. 14.

Here are the minutes as provided by Homer:

Village of Homer Regular Meeting of Trustees November 14, 2016 7:00pm

Those present: Village Trustees: Zach Wells, Kevin Knott, Guy James, Roy Woodmansee, and Charles Montgomery, not present, Mike Johnson, also present: Village Board President, Mayor Raymond Cunningham, Village Clerk, Sharon Jeffers, Treasurer, Cindy Pruitt, Attorney, Paul Hendren, Chief of Police, John Rouse, Maintenance, Bub Miller, Maintenance/Zoning/Sewer, Dave Hermes, Residents, and guests, Crystal Allen, and Herb Lacey.

Board Comment: Mayor Raymond brought up concerns of residents and "junk" in yards that is collected for recycling. The current Ordinance will be reviewed and possible amendments will be discussed at December's meeting.

Minutes: Guy James made the motion to approve November regular and special meeting minutes as presented: Charles Montgomery second the motion all in favor, motion approved.

Village bills: Kevin Knott made the motion to approve payment of Village bills as presented, Guy James second the motion, roll call vote: Zach Wells, yes, Kevin Knott, yes, Guy James, yes, Roy Woodmansee, yes, and Charles Montgomery, yes, motion approved.

Reports: Guy James made the motion to approved water, treasurer, police, maintenance, Sewer, zoning, and Village Hall reports as presented, Charles Montgomery second the motion, all in favor, motion approved.

Buildings and Grounds Committee scheduled a meeting for Monday, November 21, 4:30, to discuss placement of Veterans Memorial, and outdoor restrooms.

2017 Tax Levy: $1000.00 from tax levy will be placed in the Police Line item, to be voted on at December meeting.

Change of meeting dates: Attorney Paul Hendren asked if the board would be interested in changing meeting dates for when he is unavailable his partner could attend. The board will revisit this in April.

Adjourn: Charles Montgomery made the motion to adjourn, Roy Woodmansee second the motion, all in favor, meeting adjourn. 7:34pm
