White students made up the largest share of enrollment in Champaign County school districts in the 2024-25 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 24,854 students enrolled in Champaign County school districts, 44.9% were white. African American students were the second-largest group, accounting for 25.3% of enrollment.

In the previous school year, white students were the most common group in Champaign County school districts, representing 46.5% of the student body.

Champaign Community Unit School District 4 had the most diverse student body in Champaign County, including American Indian, Asian, African American, Hispanic, multiracial, and white students.

In the 2024-25 school year, total enrollment in Champaign County school districts increased 0.1% compared with the previous year.
