All eight student-athletes from the University of Illinois Fighting Illini women’s tennis team have been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their academic achievements during the 2024-25 academic year. The team, as a whole, was also honored.

The Fighting Illini achieved a combined team GPA of 3.80 in the fall semester and improved to 3.91 in the spring term, surpassing the required 3.2 GPA for the ITA All-Academic Team award.

Each of the eight student-athletes exceeded a 3.5 GPA, earning them ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for this campaign.

In 2025, a total of 1,462 Division I women’s student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, with 222 women’s tennis programs receiving All-Academic Team recognition.

Kida Ferrari, Megan Heuser, and Kasia Treiber concluded their careers as four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete honorees. Violeta Martinez, McKenna Schaefbauer, Rosie Seccia, and Alice Xu each received their second honor while Ariel Madatali earned her first ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Further academic accolades were awarded to head coach Evan Clark’s squad this past season. Ferrari, Heuser, Martinez, Schaefbauer, Seccia, Treiber, and Xu were named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars and received Big Ten Spring Academic All-Big Ten honors. In mid-May, Ferrari, Heuser, Schaefbauer, and Treiber were included in the CSC Academic All-District Team.
