SNC Construction will close both westbound lanes of University Avenue between Chestnut Street and Market Street to conduct storm sewer repairs. The closure will require all westbound traffic on University Avenue to merge into a single lane and follow a marked detour through downtown, rejoining the avenue at Neil Street. Eastbound traffic on University Avenue will not be affected by this closure.
All intersections along University Avenue are expected to remain open, except for southbound Chestnut Street, which will not allow turns onto westbound University Avenue during the repair period.
The work is set to begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, November 17, and is planned for completion with reopening by 4 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, depending on weather conditions.
