Rep. Mary Miller, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 15th district since 2021, posted a series of tweets on October 31, 2025, expressing concerns over immigration policy and its consequences in Illinois.
In her first tweet at 14:07 UTC, Miller wrote, "Katie Abraham and Chloe Polzin were full of promise, but their lives were stolen by an illegal alien who never should’ve been in Illinois. Now, while he serves 30 years in prison, their families will endure a lifetime of heartbreak, all because JB Pritzker’s sanctuary policies https://t.co/kbWmnonuDr".
A minute later, she shared another post linking to additional content: "https://t.co/kzyhzfFXI8".
Later that afternoon at 17:32 UTC, Miller continued her criticism of state policies regarding immigrants and commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs), stating: "Illinois has become a destination for foreign criminals who don’t speak English or care about our laws to obtain CDLs. Thank you, @Sec_Noem and @SecDuffy, for taking action. ARREST & DEPORT THEM ALL! https://t.co/kv1Hr7TlnY".
These statements come as Illinois continues to debate the impact of its sanctuary policies under Governor JB Pritzker and broader issues related to immigration enforcement and public safety.
Mary Miller succeeded John Shimkus in Congress after winning the seat in the 2020 general election with over 73% of the vote against Erika Weaver. She was re-elected in 2022 with more than 71% of the vote against Paul Lange.
