Illinois State Senate District 52 issued the following announcement on March 27.
To increase the workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic, State Senator Scott Bennett (D-Champaign) is urging doctors, nurses and other professionals in Indiana to apply for Illinois’ new Out of State Temporary Practice Permits.
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) issued a proclamation Wednesday to allow out-of-state physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and respiratory care therapists who are in good standing to provide care to Illinois residents affected by COVID-19.
“There is an urgent need to boost the number of health care professionals in Illinois during this critical time,” Bennett said. “The new measures allow us to call on our neighboring state to share their expertise and services with world-class medical providers in Illinois to reduce COVID-19’s impact.”
Temporary practice approval expires on Sept. 30, 2020.
