City of Hoopeston Council met Feb. 6.
Here is the minutes provided by the Council:
I. Call to order
Clerk Lane called to order the regular council meeting of the City of Hoopeston at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday February 6, 2018 at City Hall.
II. Roll call
Clerk Lane conducted a roll call. The following six council members were present: Anderson, Florek, Goodwine, Hamilton, McElhaney and Yaden. Aldermen Ankenbrand and Houmes and Mayor Crusinberry were absent. Attorney Mockbee was present.
Clerk Lane asked for a nomination for Mayor Pro Tem which was made by Hamilton to nominate Goodwine and seconded by Florek. Motion was approved 6-0 for Goodwine to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.
III. Approval of Agenda
Alderwoman Florek moved to approve the agenda seconded by Hamilton. Agenda was approved 6-0.
IV. Minutes from Prior Meeting
Clerk Lane read the minutes from the last meeting. Alderman Anderson moved to approve minutes seconded by Yaden. The minutes were approved as read 6-0.
V. Presentations
None
VI. Payment of Bills
Alderman McElhaney moved to approve payment of bills seconded by Yaden. Roll call vote was taken and bills were approved for payment 6-0.
VII. Reports of Officers
a) Florek asked Water Superintendent Steve Baker for updates. He reported a new pump was installed at the lift station at the former Baer’s Trailer Park and that the water plant and lagoons are running good. Sam Cole reported on the Prairie Meadows project. Water mains and sewers have been installed at the project. He also reported that the sewer lining project has basically has been approved by EPA and funding is expected to be approved in July.
b) Alderman Goodwine gave a report on the TIF meeting that was held. The entities involved seemed to be positive towards extending the TIF District, but formal responses from the entities are needed.
c) Alderman Hamilton had nothing to report.
d) Alderman Yaden had nothing to report.
e) Alderman Anderson had nothing to report.
f) Alderman McElhaney had nothing to report.

XIII. Public Comment
Stan Steiner asked how much was spent on legal counsel for TIF. Goodwine responded that ongoing legal expenses for TIF are minimal but he doesn’t have the numbers with him. The bulk of legal expense was for the formation of the TIF districts.
Alderwoman Florek moved to adjourn seconded by Hamilton. Council adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
