Rep. Mary Miller, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 15th district, posted several statements on August 19, 2025, addressing issues related to parental rights and state spending in Illinois.

In a message of appreciation to her colleagues and advocacy groups, Miller wrote on August 19: “Thank you to my colleagues for cosponsoring the Parents Opt-In Protection Act and to all the supporting organizations for standing up for parental rights. Let’s get it done!”

Later that day, she commented on Illinois’ fiscal policy and its impact on taxpayers. On August 19, Miller stated: “Illinois is on track to spend $2.5 BILLION on illegals this year and faces a $3.2 BILLION deficit. Instead of fixing the mess we are in, JB Pritzker is handing out taxpayer-funded aid to illegal aliens. Illinois taxpayers have had ENOUGH!”

That evening, Miller continued her criticism of Governor JB Pritzker’s policies with another post: “Illinois is being bankrupted so JB Pritzker can virtue-signal for illegals. It’s utter betrayal and hardworking families are paying the price.”

Mary Miller has represented Illinois’ 15th district since replacing John Shimkus in 2021 after winning consecutive elections in 2020 and 2022 by wide margins against Erika Weaver and Paul Lange respectively.
