Rep. Mary Miller, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 15th district, recently posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing public safety, immigration, and religious observance.
On April 2, 2026, Miller wrote: “NEWS FLASH: If you cannot read road signs, communicate with law enforcement, or safely operate a commercial vehicle, you should not be behind the wheel.”
The following day, April 3, she commented on crime and immigration by stating: “Every single crime committed by an illegal alien in America is completely, 100% preventable.”
Later that same day, Miller acknowledged Good Friday with a message about her Christian faith: “On Good Friday, we remember the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave up His life and was crucified on a cross for our sins. May we take this day to remember that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
Miller has represented Illinois’s 15th District since 2021 after replacing John Shimkus. She won her seat in the U.S. Congress by defeating Paul Lange in the 2022 general election with over 71% of the vote and previously defeated Erika Weaver in the 2020 general election with more than 73% support. Born in Oak Park in 1959 and currently residing in Oakland at age 63, Miller holds a BA from Eastern Illinois University.
