Hoerr Construction will close one northbound lane of Mattis Avenue between Sumac Drive and Windsor Road on Friday, August 15, 2025. The closure is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. This work is being done to complete sanitary sewer lining for the Urbana Champaign Sanitary District. During this period, northbound traffic in the area will be reduced to a single lane.
According to city officials, these types of infrastructure improvements are part of ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade public utilities in the area.

The City of Champaign advises motorists to plan for possible delays and use alternate routes if possible.
