U.S. Representative Mary Miller, who serves Illinois’ 15th district in Congress, recently posted a series of statements on her official X (formerly Twitter) account addressing issues ranging from crime in Chicago to national immigration policy and personal faith.
On August 23, 2025, Miller criticized the leadership of Chicago’s mayor, writing: “Chicago under @ChicagosMayor has led the nation in murders for 13 YEARS straight, and 2025 is on track for the 14th. These tragedies are the result of failed leadership.”
Later that day, she addressed border security and immigration enforcement, stating: “America will NOT be the dumping ground for the world’s criminals and terrorists. Under President Trump, we will defend our borders, deport illegals, and protect our citizens.” This message aligns with her previous support for stricter immigration controls.
On August 24, Miller shared a Bible verse reflecting her religious beliefs: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20
Miller has represented Illinois’ 15th congressional district since replacing John Shimkus in 2021. She won election to Congress after defeating Erika Weaver in 2020 with over 73% of the vote and was re-elected in 2022 against Paul Lange with more than 71% support.
