All eastbound lanes of Kirby Avenue between Fourth Street and Goodwin Avenue will be closed on Monday, August 18, 2025. The closure is necessary for tree removal work being carried out by the University of Illinois. According to the announcement, “the closure will occur on Monday, August 18, 2025, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., weather permitting. During the closure, eastbound traffic will be detoured in the area. Westbound traffic lanes will remain open during the work.” The westbound lanes are not affected and will stay open throughout the project.
