The Illinois women’s team achieved a notable fifth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, scoring 29.5 points at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. This marks the program’s best performance in nearly three decades since the 1996 team secured fourth place.
Senior athlete Rose Yeboah distinguished herself by becoming the national runner-up in the high jump with a season-best leap of 1.93 meters (6-4). She has become the first Illini high jumper to receive All-America honors in consecutive seasons since Stacy Ann Grant, who accomplished this from 1996 to 1998. This achievement represents the school’s fifth high jump All-America honor.
Originally hailing from Ghana, Yeboah is pursuing a major in communication and plans to start graduate studies at Illinois this fall.
