The University of Illinois Fighting Illini women’s golf team advanced to sixth place out of twelve teams after the second round of the Florida State Match Up on March 21, shooting a combined score of 299 (+11).
This performance highlights the team’s ongoing efforts during the spring season as part of its competitive schedule, according to the official website. Anna Ritter led Illinois with a score of 73 (+1), moving into the top ten individually. Brielle Mapanao also shot a 73 (+1), rising to eighteenth place. Teammates Alexis Myers, Victoria Zheng, and Erica Lee are tied for thirty-fifth, while Kylie Eaton, competing as an individual, is tied for forty-first. Host Florida State leads overall at nine-under par through two rounds, with Sophia Fullbrook pacing all individuals at eight-under.
The Fighting Illini women’s golf program competes in both fall and spring seasons and is part of the university’s athletics program aligned with the Big Ten Conference, according to the official website.
