Ford County Board met Nov. 26

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A. CALL TO ORDER:

The County Board of Ford County met pursuant to adjournment in the Sheriff’s Boardroom at the Jail in Paxton on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by County Board Chairman, Chase McCall.

B. ROLL CALL:

The roll call showed the following board members in attendance: Gene May, Kelse Vaughn, Randy Ferguson, Greg Niewold, Sarah Mussman, Tim Nuss, Tom McQuinn, Vice Chairman Carson Vaughn and Chairman Chase McCall. Mrs. C. Ihrke, Mr. Kerber and Mrs. King were not present.

C. PROCLAMATION Chairman McCall

D. PLEDGE TO THE FLAG AND INVOCATION: Chairman McCall

E. APPROVAL OF THE BOARD AGENDA:

Mr. Niewold made a motion to approve the Agenda as stated. Mrs. Mussman seconded it.

Voice Vote – Carried

F. APPROVAL OF THE COUNTY BOARD MINUTES:

Mr. C. Vaughn made the motion to approve the November 10, 2025, County Board Minutes. Mrs. K. Vaughn seconded it.

Voice Vote – Carried

G. COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR:

H. NEW BUSINESS:

I. OLD BUSINESS:

– Mr. Ferguson made a motion to discuss FY 2026 Ford County Budget & Appropriation. 

Mr. McQuinn seconded it. After discussion, Mr. Ferguson made a motion to amend his motion adding to now including all amendments made at this meeting and then to adopt Resolution 25 – 91 (FY 2026 Ford County Budget & Appropriation). Mr. McQuinn seconded it.

Roll Call – Ayes – 8, Nays – 1

(Nay – McQuinn)

– Mr. Ferguson made a motion to adopt Resolution 25 – 92 (Setting Salary for the Ford Co. Circuit Clerk for FY 2026). Mr. Niewold seconded it.

Roll Call – Unanimous

 – Mr. C. Vaughn made a motion to adopt Resolution 25 – 93 (Setting Salaries for the Ford Co. Probation Officers for FY 2026). Mrs. K. Vaughn seconded it.

Roll Call – Unanimous

 – Mr. Ferguson made a motion to adopt Resolution 25 – 94 (Setting Salaries for certain Dept. Heads & Hourly employees for FY 2026). Mrs. K. Vaughn seconded it.

Roll Call – Unanimous

– There was a brief discussion on when and where to hold the employee Christmas lunch.

J. ADJOURNMENT:

Mr. C. Vaughn moved to adjourn. Mrs. Mussman seconded it.

The meeting ended at 3:27 P.M.

The next monthly meeting will be Monday, December 8, 2025, at 6:00 P.M.
