On January 9, Tracy Parsons, the Community Relations Manager, participated as a guest speaker at the Police Training Institute. City staff used the session to stress the significance of strong relationships between police and the community, as well as meaningful engagement efforts. They highlighted that officers should work on building visibility, trust, and familiarity with residents.

During the presentation, city staff provided information about the specific characteristics of their community and discussed how law enforcement is viewed by local residents. These insights were intended to give cadets a better understanding of what community members expect from police officers and to emphasize the importance of relationship-building in effective policing.

The event concluded with advice designed to help cadets serve with awareness, respect, and accountability.
