The City of Champaign Public Works Operations Division has announced that yard waste collection for the Orange 4 and Orange 5 zones, which was delayed due to recent snow and ice, will take place on Monday, December 22, 2025, if weather allows. Residents in these zones are advised to place their yard waste within 10 feet of the curb by 6 a.m. on the scheduled day. All yard waste should be properly bagged or bundled and positioned away from obstacles.

Yard waste collection has already been completed in all Blue zones as well as Orange zones 1, 2, and 3. Residents in those areas who still have materials can bring them to the Landscape Recycling Center in Urbana for a small fee.

“Residents in the Orange 4 and Orange 5 zones should ensure their yard waste is placed within 10 feet of the curb by 6 a.m. on December 22. Yard waste must be properly bagged or bundled and set away from obstacles,” according to the City’s announcement.

Collection was postponed earlier because of snow and ice operations handled by city crews.
