Illinois head football coach Bret Bielema and his family have initiated a program to honor military personnel during Military Appreciation Day at Memorial Stadium. Scheduled for November 15, when Illinois faces Maryland, the initiative aims to provide veterans, active-duty military members, and their families with an opportunity to attend the game.

Coach Bielema has committed to matching tickets purchased by fans of the Fighting Illini. The matched tickets will be donated directly to service members and organizations supporting them. “Our family believes deeply in honoring those who sacrifice so much for our freedom and safety,” said Bielema. “We are grateful for the opportunity to say thank you and give them the chance to enjoy a day of celebration, recognition, and Illini Football.”

Fans can purchase $20 tickets through this campaign, which Coach Bielema will match. This effort seeks to fill the stadium with heroes from across Illinois and beyond.

Tickets distributed through this initiative will be handled by Vet Tix. Interested parties can register on www.vettix.org to create an account and request tickets.
