The Housing Authority of Champaign County announced on Apr. 16 that applications are now being accepted for the new Bristol Senior Residences, with construction expected to finish in about eight weeks.

The new housing development aims to provide more options for seniors in the area. An open house ceremony is planned for July to mark the completion of the project.

Seniors aged 62 and older are eligible to apply for residency. Interested individuals can submit their applications through the Housing Authority of Champaign County website or by visiting the office at 2008 N. Market Street, Champaign. The application window will remain open until June 1.

Bristol Senior Residences is intended to address a growing need for senior housing within the community as construction nears its final stage.

With preparations underway for an official opening this summer, local officials expect increased interest from seniors seeking affordable and accessible living arrangements.
