Anthony Drive will remain closed between Dobbins Drive and Campbell Drive as work by William Charles Construction and the Illinois Department of Transportation continues. The closure, which began on July 22, affects both eastbound and westbound traffic. Detours are in place to redirect vehicles around the area.
The road will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the current schedule extending through Friday, September 26, 2025, depending on weather conditions. Access for local properties within the closure zone will be maintained throughout the construction period.
The project is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in Champaign.
A spokesperson stated, “William Charles Construction and IDOT will continue to close Anthony Drive between Dobbins Drive and Campbell Drive (the project started on July 22nd). Both eastbound and westbound Anthony Drive traffic will be detoured in the area. The closure occurs between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., and will continue through Friday, September 26, 2025, weather permitting. During the closures, access will be maintained to all local properties.”
