A new gaming bill will give the Danville area a chance at economic expansion with the development of a new casino, according to Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet).
The senator indicated his support of this move in a statement in a post on his website.
“Throughout my legislative career, I have fought for Danville and East Central Illinois to have this kind of economic opportunity and the jobs it will bring to our area," Chapin said. "I would like to thank the local leaders in Danville and Vermillion County for continuing to push for this important project. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank former Representatives Bill Black and Chad Hays, Senators Judy Meyers and Rick Winkel, and former mayor Scott Eisenhauer, who championed this cause for so many years. I will continue to fight for the economic well-being of East Central Illinois and this will be a great shot in the arm to our local economy.”
The gaming expansion bill will bring in much-needed revenue and provide thousands of jobs in construction and expansion in the state of Illinois, according to Rose.
