The Champaign County Lincoln Legacy Committee met Oct. 27 to provide updates on exhibit repairs.

Call to Order

Wysocki called the meeting of the Lincoln Legacy Committee to order at 5:02 p.m. Roll Call

Committee members present: Barbara Wysocki, Anke Voss, Kay Grabow, Kent Tucker, Jack Anderson Others present: None

Approval of the Agenda/. Addendum

Tucker moved and Anderson seconded to approve the agenda. Motion approved. Approval of the minutes

Anderson moved and Grabow seconded to approve the May 31, 2016; July 28, 2016; and August 30, 2016 meetings minutes, Motion approved.

OLD BUSINESS

1. Updates on exhibit repairs

Wysocki said that last week Sgt. Carlton emailed her that students were coming to see the exhibit on Friday. She went over to the exhibit on the Wednesday before, She said the exhibit was not functioning. She said the fighting and sound were out. She said that Michael Hall of Taylor Studios came at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday. She said there was a mix up on the school schedule, and the students came on Thursday just as Taylor Studios was finishing the repairs. Wysocki said there has been no Taylor Studios bill sent yet.

2, Reaction to joint historical group discussion

Voss said that there was a great discussion with good ideas. She said there should be a mission statement developed. She said all in the group should find ways to support each other and find ways to Collaborate. She said it was good to have the Rantoul Historical Society present, Grabow said there should be a future discussion about each museum's and society's issues,

Wysocki said that she followed up with Tolono group and sensed, through a third party, that the group could use help.

Anderson said that historical interests are geographically based, and each local group should be in the joint discussions. He said there should news coverage of the discussions.

3. General updates

Wysocki said the governor has appointed a State BiCentennial Commission.

NEW BUSINESS

Wysocki said she and Tucker discussed the Open Meetings Act requirements for the non-LLC meetings. Wysocki said she discussed the issue with a County attorney. She said the attorney said to be careful With dealing with the act,

Wysocki said the LLC should consider appointing a representative to the non-LLC group meetings. Woss said we should wait for a structure to develop before choosing a representative,

Wysocki said the LLC should act on having a change to quarterly meetings before January, 2017, Next Regularly Scheduled Meeting

The next LLC meeting will be October 25, 2016.

Adjournment

K. Tucker moved and Woss seconded to adjourn. Motion approved. Meeting adjourned at 5:51 p.m.
