The Elgin Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met Thursday to discuss background checks and interview procedures for firefighter applicants.
The board also considered changes to the ordinances regulating new hires and promotions of police officer.
After retiring to an executive session, the board returned and adjourned until its next scheduled meeting on June 16.
The board meets at 150 Dexter Court.
