Champaign County Crime Stoppers is looking for citizen nominees for this year's Dave Benton Crime Fighter Award.
The award highlights citizens who have shown an exceptional commitment to fighting crime in Champaign County. Nominees must be involved in an ongoing activity that helped stop a crime, solve a crime or improved public safety.
The award honors the passion for crime prevention of former WCIA anchor and former Crime Stoppers board member Dave Benton.
Nominations are due by June 1 and can be submitted through a form on www.373tips.com. The winner will be chosen by the board and receive $500, a certificate and an engraved plaque.
